This ministry provides support and encouragement to those who are facing challenging circumstances. Our staff goes out in ministry representing our Pastor and membership of Highview Baptist Church. The ministers become a visible reminder of God’s presence during times of trouble, pain, and sorrow. The major areas of responsibility are hospital visits, bereavement, and prayer ministry.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact out pastoral care minister Larry Smith by phone at 502.231.6211 or e-mail him lsmith@highview.org. You can also email Beth Raley at braley@highview.org as well
Members of the pastoral team at Highview make daily visits to Louisville area hospitals to encourage church members who are injured or ill. Federal laws restrict the disclosure of patient information by hospitals. As a result, our church is often unaware of members of our church that has been admitted. If you are hospitalized or facing surgery, it is important that you, a family member, or a friend, inform the church office as soon as possible. Please fill out the form below or call us at 502.239.7711 and give us the following: 1. Name of patient 2. Name of hospital 3. Room number if available 4. The date and the time of entrance to the hospital in the case of surgery.
The death of a family member is a very difficult time to go through. When the church is notified of a death, we are available to assist with funeral plans and arrangements. We also visit the family and offer both scriptural and prayer support. Our Pastoral Care ministry is designed to provide spiritual guidance and compassion during their time of grief. We also have a support group called “Grief Share”. This group meets during the fall and spring semesters on Sunday evenings at 5:00 PM. This support group is especially for those who have suffered from the death of a loved one. Your heart will be encouraged through this support group as you journey from mourning to joy.
