Barak Tjader, Worship Director Barak Tjader is the Minister of Music and Worship at Highview’s Valley Station campus. He directs Valley’s choir and praise band and plays acoustic guitar.
Barak and wife Heather, have one son, Judah.
The Tennessee native earned a degree from the University of Tennessee in industrial engineering. He holds a M.Div. and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
The Tjader Family loves Kentucky. But Barak’s favorite color is orange. “Growing up in northeast Tennessee, my main interests were sports and country music. When I have time, I love to play golf, basketball, and guitar. On any given fall Saturday afternoon, you can probably find me with 100,000 of my closest, orange-clad friends, singing “Rocky Top” at Neyland Stadium as we cheer on the mighty Tennessee Vols.”
Barak was in elementary school when he began his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. “When I was 10 years old, sitting in a Sunday School class at Tri-Cities Baptist Church, I suddenly became aware of the stark reality of my sin and asked Christ to save me. Ever since that time, He has been gracious and faithful to make me more and more like Jesus through Bible study, prayer, and godly men who have mentored and challenged me in my walk with Christ. While on a mission trip to the Philippines in college, God began to give me a sense of a calling to full-time vocational ministry.”
