Jonathan Akin, Lead Pastor
Jonathan Akin serves as the Lead Pastor of the Valley Station Campus. He and his wife, Ashley met at Highview’s East Campus in 2004. They were married in July of 2005. They now have a sweet little girl, Maddy, who is the joy of their life.
The Christian Academy of Louisville graduate was educated at Boyce College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jon grew up in a Christian home. His dad and three brothers all participate in ministry. The Akin men love watching college football together. Jonathan also enjoys music and spending time with family and friends.
The Lead Pastor at Valley was only five when the message of Christ penetrated his heart. “I asked my dad about what it meant to be “saved.” He told me we would go home, eat lunch and take a nap, and that if I still wanted to talk about it after the nap we would. I went in to his study and took a nap. When I woke up, my dad shared the gospel with me, and I trusted in Jesus. I tried to walk with Him from then on. I’ve had great experiences, and I’ve stumbled. But Jesus has been faithful to me, and when I was in college He called me into full-time ministry. He has been so good to me.”
